In the fourth quarter of 2024, the performance of the leading music and podcast apps on the Android platform in Germany showed varied trends. According to Sensor Tower data, these top apps demonstrated significant dynamics in downloads, revenue, and active users.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts saw a fluctuating revenue pattern, starting at around $300K, dipping slightly, and then peaking at $313K in late December. Downloads began steadily but spiked to 49K in early December, while active users grew from 8.8M to 9.1M during the quarter.

Shazam: Find Music & Concerts maintained consistent download numbers, hitting 24K in late December. Active users followed a similar trend, reaching approximately 2.6M by the end of the quarter.

Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts experienced a decline in revenue, starting at $20K and decreasing to around $16K. However, downloads increased notably in December, peaking at 31K, while active users showed a slight increase to over 2.3M.

HITSTER had a dramatic rise in downloads, from 8K to over 66K in late December. Active users also surged, reaching 240K in the same period.
